Grandmother speaks, “what does it mean to be immortal? What anguish would there be in an animal life that never ended? We might think we know the answers to such questions, but can we really consider them in the absence of our religious indoctrination? We’ve all been damned by the notion that the sacred exists only in some distant heaven, after all. If the sacred is here, then, where is the horror in immortality? If it is a long life, we want, if what we desire is to have more time for love, and for art, perhaps all we need to do is be as present as possible for as long as we can. Tell me, what makes time move slowly for you? Whatever your answer, this is the key to a life well spent.” The grandmother‘s prayer is a lesson of elder-hood. “Elders are truly compassionate, wisdom keepers, who stand on that divide between innocent grace & high-fire leadership. A true elder, allows their soul to guide while their smaller self & ego-born desires take the backseat.” It has been said that with the egg, when it is cracked from within, it creates birth; when it is cracked from without, it destroys & creates chaos. We are asked today to look at our own cosmic egg, and what we are birthing. Are we trying to break out, or are we trying to break in?
